Family Psychotherapy
Family therapy helps improve the way family members interact with each other and resolve conflicts together. This type of therapy aims to strengthen the entire family unit, encouraging each member to rely on one another to work towards desired family change. Families can be a source of support and comfort, but at times can also be a source of strain and stress. Communication breakdown, frequent arguments, mental health challenges, work issues, or parent/child concerns may challenge your connection with each other.
Family therapy can assist in healing strained relationships, teaching new coping skills and improving how your family works together. Working with a family therapist will allow for insight into your family’s ability to solve problems and express thoughts and emotions. You may explore family roles, rules, and behavior patterns in order to spot issues that contribute to conflict. Guided by your family therapist, you’ll learn new ways to interact and overcome past issues. You’ll set individual and family goals and work on ways to achieve them together.
